Gillian is a Partner in our Dispute Resolution Department. She is an extremely capable and versatile litigator, with extensive experience straddling both volume debt recovery and high value, complex litigation in the Court of Session and the Sheriff Court. She has been involved in cross-border and international litigations and has considerable advocacy experience before tribunals, panels, in the criminal courts and alternative dispute resolution forums.
Gillian acts on behalf of a broad spectrum of clients ranging from private individuals and small family businesses to government bodies and listed plcs. She is seasoned in a range of subject matters, including contractual and delictual claims, professional negligence, liquidations, administrations, adjudications, statutory appeals, interdicts, adults with incapacity, actions for defamation, breach of copyright and restrictive covenants.
Gillian is resourceful and solutions driven, with a track record of securing positive outcomes in extremely challenging cases. She is particularly mindful of achieving balance for clients between enforcing legal rights and mitigating expense.
She is a part time tutor at the University of Strathclyde Law School on the postgraduate Civil Litigation course and a contributing author to Lexis Nexis.
