Fraser Geddes

Fraser has been Chair of Anderson Strathern since April 2023, responsible for devising and leading the firm’s strategy and overseeing its operational management.

His fee earning role encompasses a broad and diverse practice involving the resolution of commercial and property disputes and professional negligence claims. He has a particular interest in regulation within the health sector. Working closely with commercial clients and private individuals, his primary aim is to keep them out of court; but where this is not possible or the best strategy, he also has a depth of experience pursuing and defending claims in the Court of Session, Sheriff Court and Lands Tribunal for Scotland. Fraser’s far reaching experience also includes advising public sector bodies involved in disputes, so he has a deep, innate understanding of the issues that they face.

A natural problem solver who works tirelessly to deliver solutions, Fraser is a keen advocate of alternative dispute resolution such as mediation, and he is noted for this by Chambers. In addition, Fraser is certified by the Law Society of Scotland as an Expert Witness in both Professional Negligence and Scots Law.

Fraser makes the absolute most of his leisure time, especially with his wife, three children and whippet. They are a dedicated outdoor family, who love walking, travelling and exploring. When time allows, Fraser also enjoys playing golf [badly] and squash [don’t ask]. He also enjoys going to the theatre and enduring the occasional trip to watch his beloved St Mirren.
