Joanna is a legal director in the Corporate Team based in our Glasgow office, but she covers the whole of the UK in terms of advice given. Joanna deals with corporate matters, from mergers and acquisitions to shareholder agreements, company structure and refinancing. She’s also a recognised expert in licensing, advising in, and providing representation for, all aspects of licensing from alcohol, general, taxi, Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO’s), betting and gaming, with a specific specialism in short term let matters. She regularly acts for businesses of all sizes, from single site operators to large household names and has a specialist expertise in advising family and owner managed businesses.
Joanna is a member of the Scottish Government’s Working Group on short-term lets, the Short Term Let Industry Advisory Group and the Law Society of Scotland’s licensing Committee. She is also a tutor at Strathclyde University in Business and Finance, and licensing and convenes the Family Business course. She is also a member of the Anderson Strathern Accelerate Retail Group and speaks and writes widely on corporate and licensing matters.
