WorkWise – our inaugural employment conference, where we addressed the latest HR and people management issues. We shared best practices gained from Anderson Strathern’s collective experience, while facilitating meaningful discussion between delegates.
As well as hearing from our experts, our attendees were involved in thought-provoking conversations, leaving with ideas they could quickly put into practice to benefit their business. There was time for networking over breakfast and lunch, both of which were included in the registration cost.
Our plenary sessions covered a host of HR topics, including:
Preventing sexual harassment with Dawn Dickson – Tougher laws on harassment are set to come into force in October this year. Dawn will guide you through the upcoming changes, including employer duties, risk assessment, enforcement, and valuable insights from past case law.
Changes to the Skilled Worker Visa with Mark Templeton – Stay informed about the latest changes to the Skilled Worker Visa. Mark will dissect the implications of the increased salary threshold and sector-specific impacts, ensuring you’re prepared for the Spring 2024 adjustments.
Promoting financial wellbeing with Anna Gratwick – Discover strategies for promoting financial wellbeing in your organisation, including maximising benefits and increasing financial education.
Attendees then chose one of the following practical workshops:
Subject access tips with Lorraine Currie – Hear from data protection specialists on how to handle employee subject access requests (SARs), with practical tips around preparing for and responding to SARs.
Mock employment tribunals withRobin Turnbull or Jemma Forrest – A mini-masterclass of tribunal procedure with a focus on unfair dismissal – the most common type of claim.
There was also a mindfulness session with Ashleigh Halpin FCIPD from Imperium HR, and an expert panel discussion with HR leaders, led by Andrew Brown, featuring senior professionals across the education, hospitality, and renewable energy sectors. They provided delegates with their views on HR challenges and themes for the year ahead.
