Senior Associate /Director - Construction - Dispute Resolution - Glasgow

We have an opportunity for an ambitious Senior Associate or Director, ideally at least 5 years PQE, to join our specialist Construction dispute resolution team in our Glasgow office.

 

The Role

Anderson Strathern is a recognised leader in construction and infrastructure law and this is an exciting opportunity to work on complex, high-value disputes.  Our ideal candidate will have a solid construction claims background including experience advising on construction disputes, including payment and delay, and defects claims; and experience representing clients in formal dispute resolution procedures (e.g. Court, Adjudication and Arbitration).

You will be responsible for:

  • Acting on behalf of clients in the resolution of contentious issues, including conducting Adjudications, cases in the Sheriff Court, Court of Session, and through alternative dispute resolution methods.
  • Taking statements, attending consultations, drafting pleadings, instructing expert witnesses
  • Providing clear practical and commercial advice to clients
  • Actively participating in business development opportunities
  • Generating work through your reputation and contacts
  • Working collaboratively and flexibly with other team members

What you will need to succeed:

  • A minimum 5+ years PQE in the relevant field, strong interpersonal skills and a track record of delivering positive results.
  • Experience in contentious construction matters (adjudication, litigation, arbitration)
  • Familiar with standard form construction contracts
  • Commercially astute, client-focused and confident managing caseloads
  • A strong communicator with a proactive solutions-driven approach
