Cinzia Biondi

Cinzia has over 25 years legal and regulatory compliance experience in her specialist fields, and has advised some of the worlds’ leading brands, including in highly-regulated sectors. Throughout her career, Cinzia has held positions as a dual-qualified solicitor in private practice, dual qualified in-house legal counsel and compliance director in the financial services sector, and as an independent legal & compliance consultant and business partner. She has a strong track record of working with UK, EU and global clients, to Board/C-Suite level, advising and leading on the delivery of DP & Privacy and IT/commercial legal projects, with extensive experience working with multi-disciplinary business teams.

Her focus is to support private-sector organisations of all sizes, national and international, in navigating the DP & Privacy legal and regulatory risks (current and emerging) affecting their business operations, commercial arrangements, and strategic plans, as well as in the adoption of new technologies and processes.

Cinzia is currently appointed as an expert to the Council of Europe’s Data Protection panel, and is a past final shortlisted candidate for the positions of European Data Protection Supervisor and Assistant EDPS, in which she is believed to be only UK candidate shortlisted for these posts since the Office was created.

Cinzia is also an experienced Board member, having served on Marie Curie’s Scottish Advisory Board, as an Independent Board Member of the Glasgow Colleges Regional Board and also serving on its Audit and Risk Committee, as well as more recently serving as a Non-Executive Director and Trustee for Legal Services Agency (also serving as a member of its Finance and Risk Committee).
