This verification is required by Companies House to ensure the accuracy and security of your company’s records.  It has been introduced by the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023 and is intended to tackle Fraud and Money Laundering in the UK by verifying the identities of directors, persons with significant control (PSC), members of LLPs and LPs, and Company Secretaries.

If you download the Credas app and have an NFC chipped passport, then this is all you will need.  Alternatively, you will need a photographic document (passport or driving license) and a document that verifies your current address such as a bank statement or utility bill (dated within the last three months.

The Credas verification takes 5 to 7 minutes to complete.  Once complete, we will aim to complete your application in 3-5 working days.  We would only anticipate a delay to this process if we require further information from you, the verification process has been unsuccessful, or Companies House is unavailable.

We can provide factual information about the process and the legal requirements, however if you require legal advice you would need to instruct a separate legal representative.  In carrying out this work we are acting on behalf of [entity] only and no other person.

We will retain a copy of your verification information for a period of 7 years following registration.  This is the statutory minimum period.
