Finance Assistant - Edinburgh
We are looking for a proactive and detail-orientated Finance Assistant to join our Finance team and help support the smooth running of our day to day financial operations.
Purpose of the role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is a full-time permanent role to assist with the preparation of accurate and timely financial information. The Finance Assistant will also be actively involved in assisting two Finance Business Partners and the Finance Director with analysis as required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include the following:
- Cash flow analysis and investigation of variances to budget
- Ensure all bank payments are recorded on the finance system
- Ensure all P&L transactions are properly recorded and coded in the finance systems
- Support with monthly WIP submissions, actioning any queries that arise, and preparation of monthly journals.
- Month end support. This includes processing accruals and prepayments along with completion of the monthly board pack and executive committee slides
- Process monthly credit card statements ensuring transactions are coded correctly and allocated to the correct department
- Preparation of partner payments ensuring all transactions are coded correctly and allocated to the correct profit centre
- Maintenance of Net Zero records and support with quarterly submissions
- Support gross margin analysis and key account management
Other duties include, but are not limited to:
- Completion of external surveys and supporting calculations
- Support finance training preparation and content
- Support maintenance of finance intranet page and communication.
- Assist with ad-hoc project work
