Solicitor/ Senior Solicitor - Private Client - Edinburgh

Are you an ambitious private client solicitor looking to take the next step in your career? We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to join our thriving team.

The Role

The role would primarily be based in our Edinburgh office, working with Alasdair Johnstone and Laura Murray and other members of their team as required.  The work would involve all aspects of private client work with a family office focus acting for some of our largest and longstanding landed estate family clients. We would also support you through the STEP qualification.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for advising on

  • Meeting clients and advising on wills and powers of attorney, drafting these and arranging for execution of these documents
  • Succession, asset protection and tax planning advice
  • Drafting and advising on trusts, including ongoing trust administration and winding up
  • Exposure to executry administration
  • Participating in the business development initiatives of the department and the firm
  • Supporting knowledge management for the department and involvement in new technical solutions for our bigger private clients

What you will need to succeed

  • 0 – 4 years PQE, with a strong interest in private client work
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and strong client care skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
