Traineeships at Anderson Strathern: Megan Anderson

I joined Anderson Strathern as a Trainee Solicitor in September 2019, after applying for a traineeship with the firm in my 4th year of university. I spent my first 6 month seat working in the Rural Land and Business department, where I was able to get involved in lots of interesting legal work, as well as business development and CSR initiatives. I then moved to the Private Client department and worked with the Haddington team, where I was involved with executry administration, as well as drafting wills and powers of attorney. My third seat was spent with the Commercial Real Estate department, where I assisted my team with large-scale title examination projects and all aspects of commercial leasing. My final seat is in Commercial Litigation, which is a fast-paced and very interesting seat. No two days are the same, and I very much enjoy the varied workload.

Working as a Trainee at Anderson Strathern presents itself with so many opportunities, whether that be working with partners on large-scale transactions, helping to organise business development events, or attending Courts and Tribunals. You will be provided with lots of training and support to help you through your training, as well as being assigned a buddy and a trainee mentor, who will be on hand to help throughout your time in each department. I have thoroughly enjoyed my traineeship with the Firm, and I look forward to continuing my career with Anderson Strathern as a Newly Qualified Solicitor in September.
