Employment
Employment law has changed radically over recent years and a new working relationship is developing between employers and employees. Our Employment Unit is forward thinking and recognises there are many new opportunities opening up in this changing environment.
We are able to see employment disputes from both sides of the traditional divide and believe our team is well placed to advise employers (and employees) on any issue likely to arise in the course of the employment relationship.
Employment law is becoming increasingly involved and finding the time to deal with the growing complexities can be a problem for employers. Getting it wrong can be time consuming and expensive. The right advice at the right time can save management time and expense.

For employees, complex and progressive legislation means that timely, accurate advice is essential to protecting interests in working life. Our experts are here to advise you and keep you informed on the issues that affect you in your role and within your industry.

We provide advice on all areas of employment law offering valuable expertise in a wide range of different industries including corporate, education, health and medical, banking, rural and many more. We appreciate that we are working with increasingly sophisticated clients and distribute briefings providing information on recent developments in the law that may affect you or your business. We are pleased to tailor our regular seminars to meet the training requirements of your business.

We maintain close links with our colleagues in the firm and particularly on issues relating to pensions, tax, benefits and health and safety. We are committed to the principles of equal opportunity and have a specialist discrimination service, Spectrum. We are also mindful of the need for specialist practical advice in a variety of related areas of non-legal work and have close contacts with other specialists in the areas of equal opportunities, whistle-blowing and conciliation.

An Employment Unit folder is available which contains information on many key employment topics along with detailed briefing notes. See section on legislation for details.
