Emma Letham

Emma provides advice on all areas of Family Law and Child Law, including Divorce, Separation, Cohabitation, Kinship Care and Child Contact.

Over the past decade, Emma has gained considerable expertise in Adoption matters and has a keen interest in cases involving the welfare of children and child psychology. Understanding that these matters are sensitive in nature and can be highly emotional for all involved, Emma is here to guide you through each step of the legal process.

Emma regularly appears in Sheriff Courts throughout Scotland and is experienced in attending Children’s Hearings. She is regularly praised for her ability to explain complex rules and procedures in a simple and clear manner. She has undertaken specialist training on Domestic Abuse for solicitors, run by the Scottish Women’s Rights Centre and she is Certified by the Law Society of Scotland in Child-Centred Practice and as a Trauma-Informed Lawyer.

Emma volunteers with the Scottish Child Law Centre where she is responsible for providing legal advice to parents, carers, social workers and children on all aspects of Scots Law relating to children and young people. She is a valued member of the Association for Fostering, Kinship and Adoption Scotland and is a committee member of the Family Law Association in Scotland.
