Anderson Strathern partners named winners Scottish Women’s Awards

Two of our partners were among the winners of this year’s Scottish Women Awards.
Catriona Watt and Sarah Phillips picked up the ‘Best Professional in Business’ title at the awards, which celebrate the achievements and contributions of women across Scotland.
The award comes just three months after the launch of the firm’s new Inquiries Unit, led by Catriona and Sarah.
Public Inquiries specialist Catriona is known for her work on the Post Office Inquiry, the Scottish Child Abuse Inquiry and the Scottish Covid-19 Inquiry. Sarah’s decades long experience working on Fatal Accident Inquiries includes high profile FAIs into the deaths in Scotland’s prisons and the Clutha helicopter crash.
The two were presented with the award at a ceremony in Glasgow on 30 August.
Catriona said: “To be nominated alongside other outstanding females in business is a huge complement, so we’re very proud to be named as winners in our category.”
Sarah added: “Leading the launch of the specialist Inquiries Unit at Anderson Strathern alongside Catriona has been a real highlight for me. The award recognises the work not only from Catriona and I, but our amazing wider team.”
Irfan Younis, spokesperson for the 6th Scottish Women’s Awards said: “We’re incredibly proud to highlight the outstanding women who are shaping Scotland’s future. These finalists are powerful examples of what can be accomplished through hard work, vision, and perseverance.
“We want to congratulate all of our winners on their accomplishments.”
