Sarah is a Partner in Anderson Strathern’s Dispute Resolution department and Head of the Public Sector Litigation team. She is a specialist defender litigator with over 25 years’ experience, advising public bodies, insurers and liability adjusters on complex personal injury and liability claims.

 

Sarah has extensive expertise in employer’s liability, public liability, occupational disease, property damage, indemnity issues and all aspects of motor claims, representing clients before the Court of Session, Sheriff Court, General Teaching Council and Compensation Recovery Appeals Tribunal. She has spent 20 years specialising in defender liability insurance work for the UK and Scottish Governments, the Scottish Prison Service, and major insurers.

 

For the past 13 years, Sarah has led representation in high-profile and politically sensitive Fatal Accident Inquiries, including mandatory and discretionary inquiries for the Scottish Prison Service. She is known for developing clear, strategic case plans that balance robust defence with lessons learned. In 2024, she was accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in Personal Injury Law and is recognised by independent directories, including Chambers UK and Legal 500.
