Martin creates practical solutions to help protect and maximise wealth while minimising the tax burden. He advises a diverse range of clients, which include high net worth individuals and their families, estate and land owners, and family owned businesses and trusts.
Heading our tax compliance team, Martin also provides specialist tax, trust and ownership planning advice in cooperation with our property, corporate, employment and family law departments.
Martin is a qualified lawyer and a Chartered Tax Adviser, accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a Specialist in Private Client Tax and in Trusts Law. He also sits on the Law Society of Scotland’s Private Tax Sub-committee and is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). He is a regular speaker at seminars where he shares his exceptional knowledge with a wider audience.
When not offering clients first class tax related advice, Martin likes to push himself to the limit. A passionate traveller and mountaineer, he has climbed the highest peaks in Africa and South America. He has also competed in gruelling ultra-distance events, such as the 105 mile Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc, which he ran to raise money for Alzheimer Scotland.
