Catriona is a leading public inquiries lawyer and works at the forefront of major public inquiries across Scotland and the UK. She co-leads the firm’s Inquiries Unit, advising clients on complex, high stakes matters where public accountability and reputation are on the line. For her work in this area, Catriona was named as Lawyer of the Year at the Scottish Legal Awards in 2025.
She spent more than two years representing clients at the Post Office Horizon IT Public Inquiry, one of the highest profile inquiries in the UK. She is currently representing clients at the Scottish Child Abuse Inquiry and she acts for the Royal College of Nursing in the Scottish Covid-19 Inquiry.
Catriona is also recognised for her high profile public law practice, acting for a wide range of public bodies and regulators in cases in Scotland’s high civil courts and in the UK Supreme Court. She has had a long career working with public and regulatory bodies, including the General Medical Council, the General Dental Council and the General Teaching Council for Scotland. She also advises the Scottish Information Commissioner, the Mental Welfare Commission and the Office of the Public Guardian.
