Russell Laughland
Russell is a legal director in our Private Client team based in Edinburgh. His work encompasses all aspects of private client work including the administration of estates (both contentious and non-contentious), the preparation of wills, estate and succession planning and adults with incapacity issues, such as the preparation and administration of powers of attorney.
Russell provides clear and compassionate legal guidance, helping individuals and families navigate the complexities of planning for the future and managing a loved one’s affairs. He takes pride in providing a personal client-focused service – offering reassurance and practical solutions during what can often be a difficult time.
He is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and is a Notary Public. Russell is also committed to shaping the next generation of legal professionals through his tutoring on the Private Client course for the Diploma in Legal Practice at Edinburgh University.
Outside of work, Russell enjoys outdoor adventures with his young family. A keen sportsman, he also enjoys a game of football, coaching rugby and playing golf (badly). Additionally, when the time allows it, Russell likes to read and go to gigs.
