Senior Solicitor - Employment

Due to the expansion of our commercial client base, we have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Solicitor within our Employment, Immigration & Pensions team, ideally 2-4 years PQE, based in our Glasgow office.

We’re looking for a Senior Solicitor specialising in employment law to join our Award Winning Team.  You will be working with Chris McDowall, Partner and Musab Hemsi, Director, as well as a team of highly motivated and sociable employment lawyers! Check out our credentials below on our website.

The role will involve

  • Providing advice and guidance to clients in relation to day to day employment law matters
  • Preparing ET1 and ET3 submissions and other associated correspondence with the Employment Tribunal in relation to litigation
  • Taking and drafting witness statements
  • Conducting legal research
  • Advocacy at Employment Tribunals and Employment Appeal Tribunals
  • Drafting non-contentious documentation such as contracts of employment, handbooks, policies and procedures
  • Developing expertise in the resolution of employment disputes including the use of mediation
  • Supporting other departments in relation to non – contentious matters such as TUPE warranties and indemnities on the sale or transfer of a business
  • Delivery of training and workshops to clients and non-clients
  • Participating in the business development initiatives of the team and the Firm.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Be a Solicitor with relevant employment law experience, ideally 2-4 years PQE
  • Meet agreed fee earning targets and have an understanding of financial issues relevant to your role
  • Good organisational, prioritisation and interpersonal skills
  • Deliver high quality advice which is concise in both written and verbal communication
  • Ability to develop your client relationship and client care skills
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively as an individual and as part of a team
  • Commercial and solutions orientated in your approach
  • Recognise and manage risk effectively
  • Committed to your personal development and enthusiastic!
  • Technically proficient in Microsoft Office applications
