Legal PA - Private Client

We are seeking to recruit an experienced PA to join our Private Client department in Edinburgh.

The Role

The ideal candidate will have Legal experience in a Private Client team dealing with Wills, Executries, POAs etc.  You will join a team of existing PAs to provide highly skilled support and assistance to a large number of fee earners, assisting them with the provision of legal services.  All members of the PA Services Team support each other as well as other departments of the firm.

You will be responsible for:

  • Dealing with department documents, in-house and online (e.g., Wills, Powers of Attorney, Executries)
  • Opening new matters and general client/matter management
  • Editing, formatting and presenting documents well, complying with Firm Style Rules and Brand Guidelines
  • Transcribing documents from dictation and copy typing with minimal error
  • Producing fees and uploading invoices to our finance system (Aderant) to be included on those fees
  • Completing cashroom forms and assisting with the production of financial statements
  • Assisting with Partner credit card reconciliations and expenses claims
  • Booking travel, accommodation, courses and seminars as required
  • You may occasionally be required to undertake aspects of this role for other teams within the Edinburgh practice as the need arises

  • Develop your client relationship and client care skills
  • Behave professionally at all times by demonstrating professional and ethical conduct
  • Use your initiative to problem solve, offer help or raise suggestions (rather than just responding to requests)
  • Instil confidence and trust that matters entrusted to you will be dealt with efficiently and quickly

What you will need to succeed

  • Well organised, methodical and able to prioritise your workload
  • IT literate, technically proficient in Microsoft products including Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills as well as an eye for detail
  • You will be a self-motivated team player, with an ability to use your initiative
  • An enthusiastic, positive manner with a can-do attitude
  • Excellent numeracy skills
