Associate - Public Sector, Corporate
We are looking for an exceptional commercial Solicitor (Associate level, 5+ years PQE) to join our market leading and expanding Public Sector team in Glasgow.
Anderson Strathern is an award-winning supplier of legal services to Scotland’s public sector bodies including central and local government as well as further and higher education institutions and arm’s length organisations.
You should have a commercial contracts background with an understanding of the public sector including public procurement and subsidies (state aid). This wide-ranging role will include all aspects of commercial work including drafting a variety of different commercial contracts (including IT contracts) and information governance. Projects experience is desirable but not essential.
You will be handling your own caseload, assisting the Partners and Director and also assisting the more junior members of the team. You will have strong technical legal skills and be able to exercise good commercial judgment. You will need to quickly establish strong working relationships with both clients and colleagues, be flexible, and have the ability and experience to provide training and legal updates to our wide-ranging client base.
What you will need to succeed
- Demonstrable commercial contracts background
- 5 years+ PQE
- Experience in public sector work
- Demonstrable ability to prioritise and forward plan to meet challenging deadlines
- Excellent client care skills while delivering high-quality advice
- Ability to identify and manage risk effectively in your work
- Excellent organisational skills
- Represent Anderson Strathern and manage client and referral relationships to develop business for the firm
