Work/Life balance
We all have a right to a personal as well as a professional existence. Gone are the days of traditional working hours, notions of working 9 to 5 and 24/7. Gone is the expectation that employees must work all hours and gone too is the belief that those who stay late every night work harder than those who leave early. Today is different, we are experiencing a revolution in the working week.
The Employment Unit is at the forefront of these radical changes. We aim to strike a balance between the commercial needs of businesses with the staffing this requires and employee expectations of flexible working. There is a compromise here that benefits both sides.
Employees now enjoy increased rights to time off, family friendly working hours, flexible working times and holidays. Employers can benefit from the advantages that flexi-time, working from home and part time hours can bring to their workforce and their costs. We can advise companies on setting out guidelines and effecting appropriate policies and procedures to encourage these practices. We can also advise individuals on their rights to a range of flexible working practices.

Other issues include maternity, parental and paternity leave, time-off for dependants and ensuring a good work/life balance. We aim to rid companies of old-fashioned employment practices and help them open up to more practical and sympathetic approaches. Finding an economical and social balance in the workplace can increase the level of your company profits and the happiness of your workforce.
