Banking - Rural
Rural aspects of banking work are a niche area in Scotland. Our award winning Land Resources Department has a strong reputation for securities work in rural contexts. We act for many large national and international banks in transactions relating to many forms of property. These include landed estates, farms, forestry, timeshares, fishings and all forms of rural business.
The advantage of using us for this work is the genuine strength and breadth of our Land Resources Department. In many cases, banks are faced with environmental and planning issues on rural property. Our dedicated environmental and planning advisers are regularly consulted on a diverse range of issues in this area to ensure that securities are established appropriately and sensibly in difficult situations.

Our Land Resources Department is regularly rated as number one advisers to the Scottish rural community. We have one of the largest teams of rural lawyers in the country and several key units established to address specialist issues. We specialise in diversification projects and tap into a range of rural businesses that do not fit the traditional mould.

We have a great deal of experience in handling projects that require specialist advice.
