Licensing

Liquor licensing laws in Scotland have undergone significant reform with far-reaching effects on businesses.

This is a highly specialised area in which we provide services to a wide variety of clients. These include hotels, public houses, national off-sales retail chains, educational institutions, clubs, individual traders and petrol station operators.

Our licensing team deals with licensing boards throughout Scotland and works closely with third party advisors such as architects and surveyors to achieve the best outcome for all our clients.

We hosted the Edinburgh Licensing Steering Group meetings to facilitate the smooth implementation of the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005.

Our close working relationship with key decision-makers in this field puts us in an ideal position to advise our clients.

The team's services include applications for new liquor licences, occasional licences, extensions and permissions, transfers of existing licences including changes of managers, variations of premises licences, tables and chairs permits, late hours catering licences, wedding licences and landlord registrations.

We also cater for applications under the Civic Government (Scotland) Act - public entertainment licensing and houses in multiple occupation.

Training of licence holders and staff is at the heart of the new licensing system and we are accredited trainers. We regularly travel throughout Scotland to provide accredited licensing training to many of our clients at venues and times to suit them.
