John is our Head of Investment Management in Private Client Services. He joined Anderson Strathern in 1998 from a leading firm of stockbrokers, where he was a director. He gained the S.I. Diploma in 1989 and shortly afterwards was elected as an individual member of the International Stock Exchange - London. John was awarded the Advanced Financial Planning Certificate in 1998. He also gained in 2003, the Securities & Investment Institute's Certificate in Derivatives. He has many years of investment management experience, particularly on a discretionary basis.

John heads the Investment Department, which aims to provide a comprehensive portfolio management service and independent advice to private clients, trusts and charities. He was involved in the implementation of our portfolio management system, as well as the regulatory authority change from the Law Society of Scotland to the Financial Services Authority. John is also a Fellow of the Securities & Investment Institute and a member of the Personal Finance Society.
