Murray is a Partner in our Employment Unit and is based in our Glasgow office. Murray has specialised in employment law for 10 years and has been involved in Tribunal cases throughout the UK for both Claimants and Respondents.
He is involved in all areas of employment law and has acted for a wide range of clients including FTSE 100 companies, UK wide plc's, professional services firms and local authorities. He has particular interest in dealing with absence and performance management issues, dismissal and disciplinary situations, re-organisations, collective redundancies and executive terminations.
He has a strong reputation for pragmatic and commercial advice and regularly advises employers on the TUPE issues arising out of share purchase acquisitions or the contracting out of services. He has also advised and represented a major local authority in a high value whistleblowing claim and has successfully represented clients in interdict proceedings to enforce restrictive covenants.
Murray has appeared regularly in the press and on the radio, commenting on a wide range of employment and discrimination issues.
He has spoken on a range of subjects at conferences for Central Law Training, the Law Society of Scotland and at a White Paper Conference in Northern Ireland. He carries out bespoke employment training for clients across the UK and has been a tutor on the Masters in Employment Law course for Robert Gordon's University.
Murray is a member of the Employment Law Group and the Employment Lawyers Association.
