Andrew is a Partner in our Dispute Resolution Department. He acts for insurers, loss adjusters and employers in defending public, motor and employers' liability claims. He also defends insurers and employers from health and safety prosecutions and at Fatal Accident Inquiries. With Doug Keir he heads up the firm's specialist Insurance Litigation Unit.
He defends the full range of liability claims, including claims with values in excess of seven figures. He has acted in several multi-party gas and fire damage claims, and acted for insurers in the leading Scottish authority on tenders and interest.
Andrew also acts for a number of professional regulators. He is experienced in providing advice on registration, self-regulation, and professional misconduct. Andrew is a member of the Association of Regulatory and Disciplinary Lawyers.
Andrew has been with Anderson Strathern since joining as a trainee in 1996. He has lectured to solicitors and insurers on dispute resolution issues. He is a former tutor in Civil Court Practice on the Edinburgh University Diploma in Legal Practice. He is a member of the Forum of Insurance Lawyers (FOIL).
