Leigh Davidson

Leigh is a partner in our corporate department.  She is qualified in both Scots and English law and specialises in the provision of legal advice in relation to intellectual property, information technology, e-commerce and commercial contracts to clients ranging from biotech SMEs to leading research institutions. 

Leigh has particular expertise in the provision of tailored legal advice to educational institutions, with a specific focus on strategic ventures, research collaborations, and knowledge transfer. 

A highly successful secondment to the Research Funding Office (RFO) of the University of St Andrews, as the Head of the RFO, enabled her to build on her knowledge and experience of the education sector generally and her understanding of the research and technology transfer objectives of the university sector. 

Leigh also spent a period of time seconded to ITI Life Sciences at its inception to assist the team with the completion of various large-scale, high profile life sciences programmes.

 

She regularly provides training and support to her client base and in particular the education sector and is a regular presenter at events run by the Scottish University sector and at PraxisUnico events, a provider of knowledge-based training on technology transfer issues to technology transfer professionals.

She is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in intellectual property.

 

Leigh has also been recognised as 'Leader in their field' by leading legal directory Chambers UK 2013 in Intellectual Property (Glasgow, Edinburgh and Surrounds).
